Reflection App - https://www.reflectorapp.com/ This app allows the user to mirror their iPad on their computer, essentially turning the ipad into a portable whiteboard. Coupled with the two apps above, this combo can produce some really cool results.
GetSpin App - http://getspin.com/experiences/togethertalks/ This is an iPad app, some may consider when we want to have synchronous conversations about content we may want to listen or watch together. The app lets you pause the content so you can engage in discussions with your group. You can add members from FB or other contact lists. Just a suggestion...there are hundreds of other ed tech tools like this we can use to have synchronous discussions. I thought I would share this new one I came across

Teaching w/Blogs - Articles, Examples, and Tips

Reid (see below) describes these four: class blog (whole class, one blog on common topic);class team blog (class divided into teams, each team of student reports their research and work on a shared team blog); individual learning or reading blog (each student maintains his/her own blog but the topic and most/all prompts are determined by the teacher); individual blog(students mostly autonomous in terms of topic and content, teacher may assign X postings per week at X words per posting to achieve X-ish quantity by the end of the term).
Intercollegiate blogging - Mitchell (see above) does this with his quads; Elizabeth and HB also have experimented with a non-quad version (in our case we taught courses in parallel on the same theme and had students respond to kindred prompts and to one another's blogs).
